Pet Brasil Project gathered Brazilian pet food and pet care companies in Florida, USA
Brazilian businesses made contact with companies from countries such as the United States, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, India, and China, among others.
From March 20 to 22, 2024, the Projeto Pet Brasil, a partnership between Instituto Pet Brasil and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), participated in the Global Pet Expo, held in Orlando, USA. The event, one of the most important for the global pet market, featured five Brazilian companies: Nutrivale (pet food), Interbrilho, Traty Vet, Animalltag, and Durapets (pet care), which exhibited their products and promoted the Brazilian pet sector. The business deals generated during the event are expected to exceed US$ 1 million.
Nutrivale highlighted its line of complete dry food for dogs and cats, while Interbrilho showcased its Ekopet hygiene product line. Animalltag presented innovative animal identification solutions, such as microchips and QR code tags. Traty Vet brought pet care products, and Durapets displayed toys and accessories for pet transport and feeding.
"During the three days of the event, activity at the booth was intense, especially on the first two days. Although the booth's location was considered less strategic by the companies, the overall feedback was positive, highlighting the quality of the contacts made," commented José Edson Galvão de França, a member of IPB’s Advisory Board.
According to the Projeto Pet Brasil’s team at the event, Brazilian companies made commercial contacts with various countries, including the United States, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Venezuela, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands, Peru, India, and China. "The presence at the event reinforced the good reputation of Brazilian products in the international market, especially in terms of quality and credibility of raw materials," commented IPB President, Caio Villela.
Participation in the 2024 Global Pet Expo was considered a strategic opportunity to promote the Brazilian pet market on the international stage. Despite lower business expectations compared to the 2023 edition, companies reported the importance of being present at such a major event, emphasizing the significance of continuing this initiative to drive the growth and expansion of the Brazilian pet sector abroad.
